Translatour Privacy Policy

  1. Introduction

    Forstech Pty Ltd ("we," "our," or "us") respects your privacy and is committed to protecting the personal information you share with us. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our app, Translatour ("App"). Please read this Privacy Policy carefully. If you do not agree with the terms of this Privacy Policy, please do not use the App.

  2. Information We Collect

    Personal Information:

    • Name: We collect your name to personalize your experience within the App.
    • Email Address: We collect your email address to communicate with you about the App and for authentication purposes.

    Audio and Transcription Data:

    • Audio Recordings: When you act as a guide and start a translation session, we capture audio from your device's microphone.
    • Transcribed Text: Your audio is converted into text (initially in English) by a third-party speech-to-text provider.
    • Translated Text: The transcribed text is then translated into each language your audience has selected.

    We only begin capturing and transmitting this audio and text data after you have (a) granted microphone permission to the operating system and (b) given explicit in-app consent to AI processing (see Section 7). Audio recordings are streamed in real time for processing and are not stored by us after the session ends.

  3. How We Use Your Information

    We use the information we collect for the following purposes:

    • Personalization: To personalize and enhance your experience within the App.
    • Communication: To communicate with you regarding updates, support, and any other inquiries.
    • Translation Services: To enable real-time speech-to-text transcription, multilingual translation, and spoken audio playback during sessions.

  4. How We Store and Protect Your Information

    We store your personal information securely in Firebase, a cloud-based platform provided by Google. We implement appropriate security measures to protect your information from unauthorized access, use, or disclosure.

  5. Disclosure of Your Information

    We do not share, sell, or otherwise disclose your personal information to third parties except to the AI processors listed in Section 6, or as otherwise described in this Privacy Policy, or with your explicit consent.

  6. Third-Party AI Processors

    To provide real-time translation, the App transmits your audio and/or text to the following third-party AI processors. We have confirmed that each of these providers contractually commits to a level of data protection equivalent to this Privacy Policy.

    • Groq Inc. - receives your raw speech audio for speech-to-text transcription, and the resulting English text for translation into your audience's selected target languages. Groq processes this data only for the duration of each request and does not retain it afterwards. See the Groq privacy policy at https://groq.com/privacy-policy/.
    • Inworld AI - receives the translated text and synthesizes spoken audio used for Premium voice playback in supported languages. Inworld does not retain the text beyond the request. See the Inworld privacy policy at https://inworld.ai/privacy.
    • Speechify - receives the translated text and synthesizes spoken audio used for Premium voice playback in languages where Inworld does not provide a suitable voice. Speechify does not retain the text beyond the request. See the Speechify privacy policy at https://speechify.com/privacy/.
    • Google Cloud Text-to-Speech - receives the translated text and synthesizes spoken audio used for Standard voice playback, and for Premium voice playback in languages not covered by Inworld or Speechify. Google does not retain this text beyond the request.     No other personal data (such as your name, email address, or account identifiers) is sent to these processors.

  7. Your Consent to AI Processing

    Before any audio or text is transmitted to the processors listed in Section 6, the App will ask you for explicit in-app consent the first time you start a translation session. If you decline, no audio or text is sent and the session will not start. You may revoke your consent at any time by contacting us at info@kuratour.com or by deleting your account from within the App.

  8. Data Security

    We use administrative, technical, and physical security measures to help protect your personal information. While we have taken reasonable steps to secure the personal information you provide, please be aware that despite our efforts, no security measures are perfect or impenetrable, and no method of data transmission can be guaranteed against any interception or other type of misuse.

  9. Your Choices

    You may update, correct, or delete your personal information at any time by accessing your account settings within the App. If you wish to delete your account entirely, please contact us at info@kuratour.com.

  10. Acceptance of Terms

    By using the Translatour app, you signify your acceptance of this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to this Privacy Policy, please do not use our App. Your continued use of the App following the posting of changes to this Privacy Policy will be deemed your acceptance of those changes.

  11. Links to Other Websites or Resources

    Our App may contain links to other websites or resources that are not operated by us. If you click on a third-party link, you will be directed to that third party's site. We do not claim responsibility for any procedures, privacy policies or otherwise. We encourage users to be aware of these policies of any third parties when they leave our service.

  12. Children under the age of 13

    Translatour is not directed at and we do not knowingly collect or publish any data from children under the age of 13. If we become aware of any such data being captured we will take the necessary steps to ensure that the information is removed from our server.

  13. Changes to This Privacy Policy

    We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by updating the "Effective Date" at the top of this Privacy Policy. You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes.
